{Paris} The Documentary Short

THE FILM IS FINALLY READY!!!

Remember when a client in DC hired me to redecorate her apartment in Paris, and I only had a week and a teeeeeeeeny tiny budget to get it done? And remember how I don’t speak French and everything went wrong? Well, then you probably also remember IT WAS ALL CAPTURED ON FILM.

And I’m dirty, sweaty, sleep-deprived, and generally a hot stinking mess through the entire 11-minute movie. Lucky you!

A talented young documentary short filmmaker in Paris, Anjali Daryanani, heard about my crazy undertaking and decided she might like to capitalize on my discomfort spend the week with me. Together with her editor, Marco Tschuy, and her very talented crew, she took my absolutely ridiculous experience and made a hilarious and amazing film for you to enjoy.

So here it is. I hope you like me. (And I especially hope you like me unshowered and without sleep, because that’s definitely what this is.)

And, as always, thank you so very much for sharing me with all your friends!

xoxo

The film doesn’t exactly capture the craziness that was portrayed in your Paris story posts. The stories you wrote about the trip were amazing- I was absolutely enthralled. Was looking forward to the film capturing the footage of furniture boxes left on the street, you carrying said boxes and furniture up spiral staircases, weird construction worker sexual assault, the police station, etc…

As with many writings converted to film, much is left out or altered to fit into the time available for the movie. C’est la vie ;)

I hope that at the very least, what *was* in the film was entertaining! Thanks so much for following along on my journey, and for your continued support! xoxo

Hi Kerra! I first want to start off by saying WOW! and This is truly an inspiring story! Im almost 17 and Ive been obsessed with Home Decor and Interior Design since I took a class on it my sophmore year, and I have my sights set on being an Interior Designer. This film has given me such a great lesson on perseverance, which is something I often stuggle with because I’ll start a project then I just wont ever finish it or I’ll say I want to do something and never do it, but you’ve taught me through this short film, that no matter what you CAN do it, if you give it your all and stay focused on your goal! Youve also become one of my inspirations for wanting to become an Interior Designer! Thank You so Much! I really needed this!

Tiris, you made my day. My week, month, YEAR. You can do anything you decide to do, so stick with it and you’ll be amazing :)

Thank you a million times for sending such a kind message. It means the world.

      xxoo

I’m about to move into my 12th home (11th apartment) since graduating undergrad and this time I’m trying to put some kind of design stamp on it so I’m finding myself on sites I’ve never visited before, including yours. This film brought a big smile to my face. I’m sorry that you lost all your stuff on the metro but glad that ultimately everything worked out. Plus the apartment looked GREAT! I’m not near an Ikea but you’ve got me reconsidering making the trip. Anyway, just thought I’d drop a line to tell you how much I appreciate your aesthetic.

Tell me what you think!
