Today I am going to attempt to make sense for a minute so you can hang things on your walls just like I did. Since we have so much art and photography we want to display, we really have no choice but to choose our biggest wall and cover it entirely. This is what we did in our previous apartment:

gallery wall process how to before and after makeover apartment envy living roomI couldn’t decide where to put anything and it was a BIG wall, so I forced The Scientist to cut out a placeholder from newspaper for everything we wanted to put up. Then I moved them all around using painter’s tape. VERY IMPORTANT: Only hang these with painter’s tape. Any other kind of tape — even Scotch tape — could and likely will make marks on your wall. Once you have everything where you like it, just hammer a nail right into the newspaper and then tear it off. Magic! I realize these images aren’t particularly inspiring due to my poor photography skillz and serious lack of a decent camera (at the time — now I have no excuse), so tomorrow I will show you many lovely examples of other gallery walls that you will certainly enjoy!
