My bedroom got a makeover, y’all, and it’s a big one.
Remember what my room looked like before?
It looks just a teensy bit different now…
How. Amazing. Is. This. Fur. Blanket. That was my bedroom splurge, a luxe find at Restoration Hardware. The rug is a vintage over-dyed piece I found on eBay, and the mirrored bench is from Amazon!
This gold mirror was a fab Craigslist find, and I repurposed the curtain tie-backs from my previous dressing room as jewelry holders in the bedroom.
This cute little elephant garden stool was also an inexpensive Amazon find, and the gorgeous curtains are from Wayfair.
I keep my cocktail rings and perfumes tidy on an antique brass tray I picked up at the Georgetown Flea Market, and my makeup brushes found a home in a vintage cocktail tumbler from Etsy.
And aren’t these dressers EVERYTHING. I grabbed the pair from one of my favorite local vintage furniture refurbishers, and these mid-century beauties are practically one-of-a-kind. The mercury glass lamps were a budget treasure from Home Goods, and the sheepskin rug was one of the only things to make it from the old bedroom into the new.
It’s dark, it’s feminine, it’s moody, and it’s glamourous. So what do you think of the new glam design??

As you would say…uh-mazing!! So sleek, so sophisticated. (and loved the headboard story the other day). Another success!
HI Kerra,
I found your blog through the Better Homes and Gardens, Jan16 story. I love your apartment and your ethos of freedom. Yay for apartment living! My husband, 2 yr old son and I purchased a triplex in Portland, OR and have renovated one of the units as our home. It’s been so fun! Even as owners, it is very free-ing and we feel so much more mobile. Our previous large home/yard/garage/etc felt like a weight. Your pink/purple/black bed covering in the BHG story is really lovely. What is it? A coverlet, a piece of fabric, a quilt? Do you remember any details on it? I noticed in your newest makeover of your bedroom, you switched to a luxe fake fur quilt. Gorgeous as well! I’m looking forward to exploring your whole site during nap times! Cheers to you, Samantha
Nevermind, Kerra! I stalked your instagram and figured out it is a suzani. Did you ever sell it?
Hahaha thank you! I’m so happy you like it! I still have the suzani and use it in the spring and summer. The fur comes out for fall and winter ;)
Thank you so much for reading! xoxo

What store did you get those beautiful dressers as nightstands? Thanks!
