Sunday was a very special day for me because I hosted my first dinner party at my new apartment! I felt like making it fancy so I chose a theme: Mexi-Chic. How do you create a Mexi-Chic dinner party for 3 lovely ladies? Why, you go to World Market and buy one of everything! Very important tip: Do not ask permission before shopping for things you “don’t need” or you might get an answer you don’t like.
I’m lucky enough to live in a little building with a lovely communal outdoor space. Since I decided on Thursday afternoon to throw an elaborate dinner party on Sunday afternoon I thought to myself, “Sure! You absolutely have plenty of time to cook a 5-course meal AND design a decor scheme for an outdoor event!” So I set to it. Here’s what my terrace looked like before:
And here’s what it looked like after The Scientist spent 30 minutes taking the old picnic table apart so the busted umbrella would come out:
See that SUPER ADORABLE menu in the frame? My dear friend designed that for me! Cat Robinson is an amazing graphic designer and her work is fresh, fun, and really engaging. If you ever need the services of a graphic designer I highly recommend her. She’s amazing!
Looks like a nice place to have mojitos and fish tacos with beautiful girlfriends, right? I thought so, too!
UNTIL IT STARTED RAINING FUR-BABIES.
Find out if I cried about it later this week!
Love this! xoxo Kristin
Thanks, Kristy! :D
so beautiful! the flower arrangement really is off the charts.
Oh, golly! That’s super nice to say.
Stunning flowers! Boo to the rain!!!!
Thank you! I’ll be posting later this week or next week on how I put the arrangements together. I did it using less than $20-worth of flowers from the grocery store!
Super cute! Wish I had a back deck area now!
Thank you! I wish you did, too! ;)
